Elaine Coffman – Principal

Elaine has been in the employee benefits industry for twenty-five years, joining MMA Michigan in 2002 as an Account Director.  She was named a Principal in 2008.  Elaine focuses on bringing mid-market clients in the Michigan area the people, processes and products they need to run their group benefit programs effectively and cost efficiently. Her strengths include managed care, financial analysis, strategic planning, project management and implementation.

As Practice Leader from 2007 to 2012, Elaine identified new group benefits trends and products, and oversaw efforts to incorporate key elements and initiatives into MMA Michigan’s service portfolio. Elaine consistently keeps staff and clients “ahead of the curve” on key industry issues including wellness and health care reform.

Elaine’s background includes consulting with Accenture’s national managed care practice and as Vice President of Marketing for SelectCare, Inc., a regionally based managed care organization in Southeastern Michigan. Just prior to joining MMA Michigan, Elaine was Regional Manager for Great-West Health Care.

Elaine received her bachelor’s degree in Finance at Wayne State. She is an active speaker addressing health care reform and wellness, and has been quoted in or contributed articles to multiple industry organizations and publications. In addition, she was chosen as Accenture’s Key Note speaker for its 2007 Detroit celebration of International Women’s Day.
