Business Insurance Best Places to Work in Insurance 2009 In 2009, McGraw Wentworth ranked first as the Best Place to Work in Insurance for firms with less than 250 employees. Business Insurance magazine and the Best Companies Group, an independent workplace excellence firm, evaluated the entrants. We are proud to earn this recognition in the program's inaugural year because of how the winners were determined: 75% of the assessment was based upon the responses to a confidential employee survey and 25% was based on an employer questionnaire. Our employees truly make the difference.
Detroit Free Press Top Workplaces In 2009, the Detroit Free Press and Workplace Dynamics surveyed employees from 173 organizations throughout the Southeast Michigan region, representing a variety of industries and 32,363 employees. Organizations were scored on six key factors: direction, execution, career, managers, conditions, and pay & benefits. In 2009, McGraw Wentworth was named third amongst the top small workplaces (up to 149 employees). In the inaugural year of the award (2008), McGraw Wentworth ranked 10th.
2009 Detroit Regional Chamber "Five On The Rise" Award
This award recognizes five area small
businesses (under 100 employees) for their achievements and contributions to
the community. There are five categories: Revenue Growth, Innovative
Products & Services, Staff Expansion & Development, Young Professional-Owned
Business, and Global Expansion. McGraw Wentworth received the
recognition for our Revenue Growth achieved since 1997. This growth is due
to an innovative service approach, an exceptional team, and unique knowledge
products, which we leverage to help Michigan's businesses achieve their
goals.
Metropolitan Detroit's 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For (2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009!) McGraw Wentworth is one of only 14 local organizations to earn this award eight or more times. The award honors Southeast Michigan employers who recognize that their employees are their greatest asset, demonstrating Best Practices in key Human Resources management practices such as:
2008 Michigan's Economic Bright Spot Award While Michigan has its economic challenges, the state also has its "Economic Bright Spots", organizations that are growing and succeeding, as identified by Corp! magazine in 2008. McGraw Wentworth was recognized for growing and expanding within Michigan, opening its Grand Rapids office in 2007, and for helping Michigan's employers compete by providing advisory services to help them attract and retain employees.

Business Insurance 2007 Women To Watch “Business Insurance believes that diversity – whether through gender, race or ethnicity – is important for an industry that serves people and businesses in all walks of life.” (Business Insurance, July 30, 2007) On an annual basis, Business Insurance recognizes fifty women worldwide who are succeeding and holding leadership roles in insurance, risk management, employee benefits and related fields.
